Construction Project Manager
JOB TITLE: Construction Project Manager
DEPARTMENT: Facilities
REPORTS TO: Chief Facilities Officer
Position Summary
Coordinate and manage construction projects from start to finish, providing accurate and reliable data while ensuring that schedules are followed and budgets are met.
Essential Job Duties
- Create and execute construction bid packages and manage bidding process.
- Secure permits and manage inspections.
- Track, manage and report on project finances, including any variances to the project budget.
- Plan, coordinate, oversee and direct activities of internal staff and external contractors.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines and milestones.
- Collaborate with involved parties to resolve problems, including work procedures, complaints, construction or design issues.
- Ensure safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite and all construction safety codes are met.
- Stay highly organized and pay close attention to detail.
- Provide reliable support data to Chief Facilities Officer as necessary.
- Thorough understanding of contracts, construction drawings, specifications and regulations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and web-based project management software/tools.
- Ability to manage multiple people and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to make intelligent and timely decisions, work well under pressure and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays.
- Ability to multitask while analyzing and solving problems.
- Five years’ experience working as lead construction project manager on large ground-up projects.
All other duties as assigned by the Chief Facilities Officer.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Thorough understanding of contracts, construction drawings, specifications and regulations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Internal staff and external contractors
Working Conditions
- Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsites in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling or stretching.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to adverse conditions on construction sites.
- Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, inclement weather and other issues on the jobsite.
